Canada Science and Technology Museum

Medical Collection, Canada Science and Technology Museum
Curator, David Pantalony

Theratron Junior radiotherapy device, 1956, made by AECL Commercial Products Division.

The Canada Science and Technology Museum has over 2000 artifacts which cover a wide range of medical instruments from early monaural stethoscopes to Osler’s student microscope to a complete 1993 Phillips MRI machine. The emphasis is on Canadian medical technologies and research. In addition, we are presently processing the rich University Health Network Collection, which came to us from Toronto in 2002. The collection is stored amidst hundreds of shelves representing other historic collections in communications, transportation, exploration, physical sciences, space, computing, natural resources and domestic technology.
